Wedding anticipations

I am preparing for my first wedding of the season. I will have the honor of capturing the fleeting moments with Kaleena and Stefan.

They will be getting married at Saint Johns Lutheran Church in Boscobel, Wisconsin.  A reception will follow at the River Inn also in Boscobel.

I am super excited to be apart of their beautiful day. I will be implementing a new lens and some other odds and ends throughout the day.

Cassidy Evans my photographers assistant will be taking in the role of a second shooter also. She has been with me for almost two years now. She has been waiting for awhile to be behind the camera. Finally, the day has come. I will be seeing some great things from her.

Keep an eye out next week for a sneak peek of this fabulous couple and their amazing day.

Packaging

When it comes down to it, first appearances mean everything. This is where I have slacked in the past but I think my style is coming together. It isn't perfect but better then before.

What style am I talking about? My marketing material. I don't have the most creative mind when I comes to packaging and marketing material. I have seen some amazing packaging in several blogs and posts from other photographers. I am trying to keep up. I used to use cheap twin pocket folders and just simply printed sheets of paper. No variation in orientation, size or paper. It was plain boring and over all unprofessional.

Over the last year I have spent time and money into my marketing material. I have difference sizes, difference textures and styles. I am most proud of my Weddig packaging. I use a recycle paper picture portfolio filled with my material and then it is tied together with a dark brown ribbons.  Both items I have bought from www.ricestudiosupply.com. I love their website. They are cheap, quality and customizable. I definitely recommend them for packaging needs.

I am hoping down the line i will have magizines for each area a speciality. A magizine that will go through the own process for each area. It won't be for a whole because they are sonexpensiclve to product but a girl can hope right?

What are some cool marketing materials you have seen?

Excited!!

Well, I have a wedding coming up with a beautiful Bride and Groom and I want to be prepared. I have been trying to save up for a lens that has some great feedback for wedding photography.  This lens at retail is almost $1200, so I know it will be a while before I will own such an amazing piece of glass.

So I tried something new! I rented a lens from Borrowedlenses.com.  I only rented for 3 days, and it only cost $90 with shipping and insurances. I am super excited to try it out. Also, if I have any luck it won't be the first time.

Wish me luck!

Welcome

Well, this is my first official blog for my photography business. I have blogged in the past, a small blog called Staying Focused, basically it was how I was handling the start up of my business.

This blog I hope will have better traffic though. Like the bigger studios, this blog will have client preview and reviews.

So check out all my pages I have already up and running and I hope to see you all soon. Drop a line and share your thoughts.
