Wedding {Heather+Bryan} Richland Center

This was my second wedding of the season. Another fantastic couple to work with. Not going to lie, this wedding had me on my toes at all times. A little more chaotic then most but it made the job that much more exciting.

First off, it was an outdoor wedding at White Mound Park. The day before we were planning on severe heat. Little did we know we would be dodging isolated showers.

A very intimate wedding with only close family and friends present. It was one of the most loving settings i have experienced. From the ceremony, to picnic with family, to the dance. It was a magical day. I am blessed to have been a part of it.

Session Alert: Senior Representative- Tiffany (Royal)

Tiffany came to me for her pictures for two reasons: 1 she is my step cousin  and 2 I am awesome (JK i have some glitches to iron out yet.)

She is my only representative this year. My first every at the Royal High School. She is absolutely stunning in these photos. Even though she is stunning all of the time. I will let the photos do the talking for me.

Organization

Okay I am the most unorganized organized person. Everything has it's place but it's every where. It is an amazing feat of how I keep stuff together. I am what you  call "organized chaos."

One of my favorite organization tools are binders. I have binders for everything. I have to, my life is crazy and I run too many things sometimes. Just so you have a picture if what all I take on: Revels Photography, I am a Senior Ambassador for Plexus Worldwide, Association Manager for my local Bowling alley and I work full time and have a toddler. Crazy right! So organization is key.

So i have found a couple of items i would love to share with my fellow photographers and busy moms like myself.

First, for my busy moms, a Life Planner from Erin Condren. This little planner is amazing and versatile. They even make WEDDING PLANNERS (Brides this is for you!!!) They make a lot more than planners. They have calendars, folders and so much more to keep organized and even videos to help keep your life organized. BUT really check out this planner! They even offer a referral program for customers!! LOVE IT!!! You save $10 off your order for every referral. After you purchase yours, you will be raving about it to your friends, like i am now!

Alright, Photographers, that life planner was pretty cool. Well don't feel left out, there is an amazing Photographer's Planner from ColorVale Actions i want you to check out. I <3 mine! This is solely direct to the business of photography. Worth every penny!

Finally, Colorvale (I love Colorvale Actions, they have amazing actions sets!) also came out with the Photographer's Little Black Book, this has your client workflows and session organizers. I actually carry this one everywhere with me.

These three things keep my hectic life organized and i definitely recommend any one of these products. OH wait, i just did!!!

Wedding {Kaleena + Stefan} Boscobel, Wi

Being apart of Kaleena and Stefan day was pure joy. The couple and their party were amazing to spend the day with. Very energetic and fun loving group.

They were married in the beautiful Saint Johns Lutheran church, some of the most beautiful stained glass windows i  have ever seen.. Followed by a lovely reception at the Riverfront Motel.

Check out just a glimpse of the day below:

Wedding anticipations

I am preparing for my first wedding of the season. I will have the honor of capturing the fleeting moments with Kaleena and Stefan.

They will be getting married at Saint Johns Lutheran Church in Boscobel, Wisconsin.  A reception will follow at the River Inn also in Boscobel.

I am super excited to be apart of their beautiful day. I will be implementing a new lens and some other odds and ends throughout the day.

Cassidy Evans my photographers assistant will be taking in the role of a second shooter also. She has been with me for almost two years now. She has been waiting for awhile to be behind the camera. Finally, the day has come. I will be seeing some great things from her.

Keep an eye out next week for a sneak peek of this fabulous couple and their amazing day.

Packaging

When it comes down to it, first appearances mean everything. This is where I have slacked in the past but I think my style is coming together. It isn't perfect but better then before.

What style am I talking about? My marketing material. I don't have the most creative mind when I comes to packaging and marketing material. I have seen some amazing packaging in several blogs and posts from other photographers. I am trying to keep up. I used to use cheap twin pocket folders and just simply printed sheets of paper. No variation in orientation, size or paper. It was plain boring and over all unprofessional.

Over the last year I have spent time and money into my marketing material. I have difference sizes, difference textures and styles. I am most proud of my Weddig packaging. I use a recycle paper picture portfolio filled with my material and then it is tied together with a dark brown ribbons.  Both items I have bought from www.ricestudiosupply.com. I love their website. They are cheap, quality and customizable. I definitely recommend them for packaging needs.

I am hoping down the line i will have magizines for each area a speciality. A magizine that will go through the own process for each area. It won't be for a whole because they are sonexpensiclve to product but a girl can hope right?

What are some cool marketing materials you have seen?

Excited!!

Well, I have a wedding coming up with a beautiful Bride and Groom and I want to be prepared. I have been trying to save up for a lens that has some great feedback for wedding photography.  This lens at retail is almost $1200, so I know it will be a while before I will own such an amazing piece of glass.

So I tried something new! I rented a lens from Borrowedlenses.com.  I only rented for 3 days, and it only cost $90 with shipping and insurances. I am super excited to try it out. Also, if I have any luck it won't be the first time.

Wish me luck!
